Registering with Be By Baby!

Why register?

Simply put – to get what you want.  Gift givers may not know that you actually want cloth diapers or that you’re having twins or that you plan on breastfeeding and have chosen items accordingly.  (Wouldn’t it be great if someone gifted you that electric breast pump?)  A registry hones in on what you think you’ll need for your family and guides friends and family to support those choices. 

 

Why register with Be By Baby!?

If you’re the kind of parent-to-be that wants to avoid getting a lot of the “stuff” that you’ll never use, then we’re where you want to register.  Be By Baby! is committed to the bond between parents and children and we believe that the most important thing your baby needs is you.  Everything else helps to support that relationship.  We’re not out to sell you what you don’t need – we hand-pick each item based on our personal experiences as mothers, as well as our customers’ positive experiences with products.  Admittedly, some of our products are outright cute and fun – but we feel like every baby needs a little cute and fun in their lives!

 

When should I register?

It’s usually a good idea to register 4-5 months before your due date.  That way, you have time to add more things to your registry as needed and gift givers have plenty of time to shop for the shower gifts your really want. 

 

How do I register?

You may register in one of two ways: on our website (you’re already here!) or in our Chicago store.  To find directions to our store location, click here.   Our friendly staff is always willing to help you through the registry process.

To begin a registry online, go to our home page and click on Baby Gift Registry.  That will take you to a page where you may create, edit or find a gift registry.  This is the page you will return to when you want to edit your own registry after it’s created. 

Click on Create a Registry.  If you are new to Be By Baby! and do not have a username and password, you will need to create an account.  Otherwise, simply log in with your username and password and you will be sent to the Start a Registry page.  Follow the prompts to complete your registry information.  When you submit your information, you will return to the home page and you can begin the process of adding items to your registry by clicking on the green “Add to Registry” button on each product page.

 

How do friends and family purchase from my registry?

Items from your registry may be purchased either online or in our Chicago location .  Online, your friends and family simply need to type in your name or your partner’s name (if applicable) in the pink Baby Gift Registry box and a click Find.  They will be directed to a search results page on which they can select your registry.  It’s a simple as that!

 

How do I edit or add items to my registry?

Simply visit the home page , and click on the Log In button in the pink Registry box on the right.  You will be prompted to type in your username and password.  After signing in, select your registry from the list and edit at will!  On this page you can change quantities and remove items.

If you would like to add items to your registry, simply follow the steps above.  Then click on the logo in the top left-hand corner to return to the home page to go shopping.  Add items to your registry by clicking on the green Add to Registry button on each product page.

If you’re in Chicago, you are also more than welcome to stop by the store and add to your registry there.

 

What happens if I want to register for a special order item?

If you choose to register for a special order item, like a Little Castle glider , it will be added to your registry like any other product.  Upon purchase, the item will be ordered and could take 6-8 weeks before it ships.  Depending on the delivery location, item and time of year, it may take as long as 10 business days to be delivered from the time it was shipped.

 

Can I register for Gift Cards?

We think Gift Cards are a great gift!  Often, you realize there are more items you need once you’ve had baby, so gift cards can help out with those little items.  We especially like gift cards for nursing moms, because, let’s face it, registering for nursing bras is difficult (who knows what size you’ll be?).  At this time, our system doesn’t have the capability to add gift cards to our registries, so we recommend you mention in your shower invites to friends and family, that you would also love gift cards. 

 

Once an item is purchased, how quickly will it appear on my registry?

Purchases on the website will appear immediately.  In-store registry purchases will appear within 20 minutes.

 

Uh-oh, I got an extra one – how did this happen and how do I return it?

Occasionally, a gift-giver may be purchasing in the store while another gift-giver is purchasing on the website.  This may also happen if a gift-giver has an outdated copy of a registry and purchases without buying from the registry.

What should I put on my registry?

Anything you like!  But, if you are feeling a little overwhelmed by your choices, you may want to take a peek at our handy Baby Needs Checklist and Mama Needs Checklist.  It’s also a good idea to put items on your registry that span the price range spectrum, so that your family and friends can feel comfortable purchasing in their own price range.

 

How do I cancel my registry?

Please email registry@bebybaby.com to cancel your registry.  We always appreciate feedback, so feel free to offer any comments here as well.

 

How long after my due date is my registry available?

Your registry will be available for one year.  To extend this time, you must edit your due date in the registry.

 

I didn’t receive everything on my registry and now I want to buy the rest of the items myself.  Do I get a discount for buying out my registry?

Of course!  If you would like to purchase the remainder of your registry items, simply send an email to registry@bebybaby.com with your name and address and let us know that you want to close out your registry.  We’ll send you a one-time 10% off promotional code to use when making your purchase.

 

I want to change my account information, what do I do?

You can change your billing information, email address, username and password by logging in (top right-hand corner) and going to Modify Your Account. You can also check and track orders by following the link on this page.

 

I forgot my password – what do I do?

On the login page , click on the link to have your password emailed to you.

 

I want to let people know I registered with Be By Baby! – what’s the easiest way to do that?

Tell them you’ve registered with us and send them to our website!  Our home page makes it easy for customers to find a registry.   Or, email us at registry@bebybaby.com to request Be By Baby! business-size shower cards to include with your shower invitations – just let us know how many you need.

 

Purchasing from a Be By Baby! Registry

Where can I purchase a gift from a registry?

Items from a registry may be purchased either online or in our Chicago location .  Online, you simply need to type the name, or partial name, of the registrant or the registrant’s partner (if applicable) into the pink Baby Gift Registry box and a click Find.  You will then be directed to a search results page on which you can select a registry.  It’s a simple as that!

In Chicago, our friendly staff is always ready to help you find something off of a registry.

 

I found the registry – how do I purchase what I want to buy?

On the registry page, each item has information on how many of that item is desired, how many are left on the registry and whether or not it’s available.  To purchase an available item, type in the quantity you would like to purchase in the quantity field and then press the Add to Cart button.  A note at the top of the page will let you know that you added that item to the cart. 

When you are ready to proceed to check out, click on “Your Cart” in the top right-hand corner of the website and follow the prompts.

 

Where does my gift ship to?  Can it ship to me?

Your gift will automatically ship to the registrant’s address (hidden from view for privacy reasons) if you purchase from a gift registry.  If you prefer the gift to be sent to you, you may change the address on the check out page by clicking on the link to edit the shipping address.

 

The registry is completely fulfilled – what do I do?

Gift Cards are a great gift because they offer the registrant to come back and get things they forgot to register for or didn’t realize they would need or want after baby is born.  Gift Cards don’t expire and can be used on any item on the website or in the store.
